Description

Fold-out cover for Rolling Stone Magazine. It's supporting the idea of the future of comedy. Here rests Dane Cook accepting the microphone from George Carlin and other famous past comedians. I scanned in an image from the original Creation of Adam section of the Sistine Chapel and worked from there. I used certain reference and added these likenesses to the figures. Dane's body was probably the toughest part. A lot of work went into every detail. Even the painterly strokes. 20-30 hours. Photoshop CS4. I was told that I should've done it more traditional. But if I did, this would be how I would make it look anyway.

I think my main argument about using Dane Cook (aside from the fact that he is not funny in any way) is that the image looses the irony of Carlin as God if he's passing the mic off to and actual theist.
I'd suggest Patton Oswalt instead of Cook as his comedic style and content are similar and obviously inspired by the legends represented in the heavenly vault. Cook shares little by way of message and means with Carlin and the others.
...Unless you're trying to suggest that Dane Cook will be the next comedian to die. That's a message I could get behind.
